Reimagine Teaching to Maximize Student Learning Conference
Deep radical and urgent transformation is required in higher education to prepare students for the highly competitive21st-century global market (Institute for Public Policy Research, 2013).
The purpose of the conference is to exchange transformative research and innovative classroom practices that will lead us to reimagine teaching to maximize student learning. Scholarly evidence shows that active learning and redesigned learning spaces result in the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition, classroom-based research documents successful academic practices that enhance student learning.

The conference program includes a pre-conference workshop. The first day starts with an opening ceremony followed by a keynote speaker and parallel presentation sessions. The second and third days begin with a keynote speaker followed by parallel sessions and conclude with a panel session. Alongside, the conference, there will be exhibitions of international publishers, learning catalytics and learning spaces infrastructure.
The conference is designed to foster partnerships among educational researchers and faculty focused on the education matrix: curriculum, teaching, student learning, learning space design, authentic assessment and SOTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning).
The conference is organized by the Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) of Sultan Qaboos University.

Resuscitation of critically ill patients is essential to improve the chance of survival and care of patients is the most critical moments of life. Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) Emergency medicine department in association with Oman society of emergency medicine (OSEM) will be hosting one of its kind, Resuscitation & Research Conference, from 18-19 OCTOBER 2020 at Crowne Plaza Muscat (Convention & Exhibition Center) proceeded by 2-day Preconference workshops 16, 17 OCTOBER 2020. The Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, as a one of the leading institutions in clinical care as well as academic excellence in the country, is honored to host you during the conference.

A dedicated team will be putting together a regular resuscitation and research(R&R) conference. The third version of R&R conference will be an opportunity to learn cutting edge resuscitation updates from experts in the field. This event would cultivate the resuscitation research in the region and grant researchers an opportunity to network and present their projects during the conference main track. We constructed a program for a wide group of audience interested in medical and surgical emergencies. The conference program will be preceded by short focused workshops. The main conference tracks will run over two days that will include short sessions focusing on resuscitation & research. Abstract submission is welcomed for both oral and poster. Original research and systematic reviews are accepted.

Psychological counseling and all its different forms, represent the main mechanism for the development of any country. Since its establishment in 1999, the Student Counseling Center at Sultan Qaboos University aims to provide services that meet students’ counseling needs, and that helps enhance students attain their psychological, social and academic goals. It also seeks to continuously develop and improve its services to both the individual and to society. In the light of the rapid progress, openness of knowledge and the pace of development and planning for a better future in the psychological counseling field and all its different forms, the conference seeks to address the challenges of that openness and the different counseling needs in both governmental and private institutions. Moreover, the Student Counseling Center seeks to apply modern technology in relation to developmental and preventative counseling programs.

Oman’s diverse climate offers a variety of habitats for wildlife including mountains, valleys, deserts, coastal plains and sea coasts. Over one thousand species of plants have been recorded in Oman. The most famous is the Boswellia sacra, the frankincense tree. Indeed, frankincense is one of the most evocative expressions of Oman’s vibrant heritage and culture. Given the increasing interest in discovering new drugs from medicinal plants in general and from frankincense in particular, coupled with the need to better link academia with industry, it is important to highlight the recent advances in this area.This inaugural conference aims to promote an exchange of knowledge and information about medicinal plants and frankincense to establish linkages between producers and consumers of natural products worldwide. It also offers an opportunity to introduce delegates to new developments and breakthroughs in many disciplines related to these areas. The conference further aims to contribute to increased production, underline the industrial and environmental value of Omani’s natural products, and highlight recent medical and scientific discoveries.
